I am in the second week of my working year and it has been rather eventful to date. I thought I would share some personal nitty gritty with you before getting to the punch line.
The working year started off with a bang as I had CPD points to do and upload for three Architects. One of my architects had two years of points to work out. For those of you that aren’t familiar with CPD points (Continuing Professional Development) they are a royal PITA! I’ve had internet banking issues for a client that was sorted out today and still don’t have a working cell phone (nearly 3 months now). I have given up on my cell phone company and have acquired a second cell phone with it’s own SIM and obviously a different number to use in the mean time. One can’t fight against thunder and we have to go with the flow – a hard lesson to learn!
I’ve been out and about my town and met the chairman of the Hermanus Business Chamber for coffee, have set up a coffee meeting with someone I heard talking at an adjacent table about his business while I was on holiday (hold thumbs for that one) and attended my first Webinar last night.
The Webinar was great fun – obviously used as a marketing tool and promoting a new product – I ended up having half an hour of free training about something we all have problems with and that is recruiting new clients. I plan to put what I learned into practice so am looking forward to my coffee date next week.
Albert Einstein said that “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” It would therefore be fair to say that to expect different results you have to do things differently.
What have I done differently this week and what are you doing differently? I would love to hear from you:
- Changed my routine by attending a webinar at night when most people are relaxing in front of the TV
- Got out of my comfort zone by approaching a total stranger having lunch at a restaurant
When you do things differently you begin to see things differently. Expect change!
Have an excellent week and see you on line,
