Year 2 – Week 47 – It only takes a spark

Good morning Readers and welcome.

What a week!  The photograph you see was taken from my lounge window on Thursday evening.   The fire started off on the other side of the mountain range as a red glow and at supper time we saw the flames cross the top ridge and over onto our side.  Due to the gale force winds the fire spread and soon devoured the mountain and threatened homes.  People were evacuated and things were extremely serious with threats to property when the wind changed and carried the flames up instead of down.  I went to sleep (tried to sleep) with my clothes on and realised which three things were most important in my life – laptop, pills & cell phones!

The point I am making is that it only takes a spark – one teeny weeny spark – in the right conditions – to get a fire going.   How do we compare that to our little businesses?

You never know who you are going to meet in the course of your day that can influence your business.  You could meet a new client, mentor or someone that knows someone that may need the service or product you provide.

We need to spark continuously!  We need to be “on the burn” continuously!  We need to be meeting people, reading motivational material, watching videos/dvd’s that inspire and motivate us continuously and in turn we will spread that fire around and inspire and motivate others.   If we do not do these things our fire will go out.  It may simmer for a day or a few weeks but eventually it will go out and die.  The only thing that will get that fire going again is another fire.

Yes, this blog is symbolic but that fire on my mountain really had me thinking long and hard!

I would like to hear from you as to how you keep yourself fired up and your business smoking.

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.
