Year 2 – Week 39 – Caring for yourself is important

love-482709_640                    Good morning Readers and Welcome!

It is nearing the end of the year and if you work in the building trade we usually wind up round about the 15th of December which means in less than two months we will be on holiday.  If you are a Virtual Assistant and have your own business or are thinking of becoming a Virtual Assistant you will find that working for yourself can be rewarding but also a slog.  We usually put our clients’ needs before our own and tend to neglect ourselves.  I came across the following points on Facebook ( and am not sure who to attribute them to as the same points crop up on various websites in Google just in modified form.  They are, in my opinion, invaluable.

Here goes.

12 Steps for Self Care:

  1. If it feels wrong, don’t do it
  2. Say “exactly” what you mean
  3. Don’t be a people pleaser
  4. Trust your instincts
  5. Never speak bad about yourself
  6. Never give up on your dreams
  7. Don’t be afraid to say “No”
  8. Don’t be afraid to say “Yes”
  9. Be kind to yourself
  10. Let go of what you can’t control
  11. Stay away from drama and negativity
  12. Love

It is sooooooooooo important to take care of ourselves in order that we may run an efficient and effective business.

“Self-care is never a selfish act – it is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on earth to offer others. Anytime we can listen to true self and give the care it requires, we do it not only for ourselves, but for the many others whose lives we touch.”
