Year 2 – Week 14 – Drown out outside interference and regain clarity of thought

Neither situations nor people can be altered by the interference of an outsider. If they are to be altered, that alteration must come from within.

Yesterday I was coming home from Onrus, Hermanus after spending yet another weekend sorting out the house on that side getting ready for the big move, when the elements went crazy. We had rain, wind and mist for a good portion of the trip back. The car radio was on as I was listening out for weather reports couldn’t hear anything because the rain coupled with the noise from the wind drowned it out. This had me thinking …

If we were able to drown out outside interference while running our own businesses, in our case “Virtual Assistants”, imagine everything we could achieve! We all had dreams that manifested into reality. Our dreams were real to us and so tangible that starting our own business was an inevitability.

Where did that fire go? Where did those dreams go?   The biggest mistake I made when starting out as a Virtual Assistant was comparing myself to other Virtual Assistants. My little corner of the world became noisy and unfocussed and doubt set in. In fact panic mode set in. “What have I done?” “What am I doing?”

I challenge you today and I challenge myself today: “drown those negative thoughts out”!   Eliminate anything and everything that doesn’t manifest in positive thoughts in your life and ultimately in your business. Eliminate outside interference!!

Be careful of the noise out “there” and re-focus on your own desires and goals that were once so important to you and should still be so.  Regain clarity of thought.   Even the great Vincent van Gogh had moments of doubt but look what he produced when he had clarity of thought!

I experience a period of frightening clarity in those moments when nature is so beautiful. I am no longer sure of myself, and the paintings appear as in a dream.
