Good morning/afternoon/evening Readers and welcome to this blog post. If you have landed on this page for the first time we’re happy to have you with us. To remind everyone reading this blog, this is an honest account of my journey as a Virtual Assistant.
I usually write my blog on a Thursday morning and publish on a Monday but I am only writing it now as I went away for a long weekend. My destination was Onrusrivier which is a little sea-side town near Hermanus in the Overberg region of the Western Cape. Hermanus is known for its whales and in season is an extremely busy Town but as it is 1 – 1,5 hours from Cape Town (depending on how many speed limits you break) a lot of people go there for weekends as it is relatively close and a completely different environment to Cape Town. On the way back, (we left at 3 pm to avoid the traffic congestion), we started queuing about 15 minutes into our journey and the journey home took 2,5 hours. It was quite entertaining! Vehicles of all descriptions bumper to bumper, car radio’s blaring, hang gliders having an amazing time in perfect conditions; it didn’t matter the size of the vehicle, no one was going anywhere fast. A few people turned their vehicles around and went the coastal route via Betty’s Bay but most of us stuck it out on the N2 back to Cape Town.
Why am I telling you this?
I had lots of time to think in the car and the road home was quite similar to the journey we have as virtual assistants or even small business owners. It doesn’t matter how fast or slow our business grows, if we are dedicated to our “journey” we WILL get there in the end. Remember the snail and the cherry tree? (Week 20- Live Your Dream). I am part of a Facebook group called Virtual Tribe and have seen quite a few posts recently about new V.A.’s (Virtual Assistants) that are struggling to get their first client or have lost a client for some reason and even some V.A.’s who have taken permanent work to pay the bills. To you I say: “If you are COMMITTED and have a burning DESIRE to succeed in your Virtual Assistant business YOU WILL GET THERE”.
The starting point of all achievement is desire.
Nothing stops the man who desires to achieve. Every obstacle is simply a course to develop his achievement muscle. It’s a strengthening of his powers of accomplishment.
See you on line,
