Year 2 – Week 2 – Gratitude Continued

Good morning Readers and welcome to Year 2 – Week 2!  Please remember that I love hearing from you and would appreciate any feedback or comments or observations you may have.

Last week we dealt with Gratitude and as it is so important and I don’t feel enough has been said I am carrying on with it this week in a personal nature.

This blog is written on a Thursday or Friday so that it is ready to be uploaded on a Monday morning.  Today, (Thursday the 30th), is my birthday!  I am mentioning it because inbetween my extremely busy day, I have received sms’s, phone calls, Facebook messages and generally have felt the “lurve”.  I am immensely grateful that my family, friends and colleagues took the time out of their busy day to wish me for my birthday.  Is this something we take forgranted?  Yes, it is but today I am GRATEFUL!

Since the 13th of January I have been inundated with work.  Why?  Who knows, but I for one am not complaining.  If I knew the reason then I could bottle it and make a fortune!   I am GRATEFUL for the work as January is half a month (was on holiday so didn’t earn).   It is not considered ethical to talk about money but here between friends I feel comfortable to tell you that I was so worried about the month of January.  For the last three months my earnings have been half a month;  first being in hospital, then on holiday.  However, somehow, the pennies have looked after themselves and I have been BLESSED with extra work this month to make up the shortfall.  I AM GRATEFUL!

So wherever we look and sometimes we need to look really hard, we find things to be grateful for.   Today the wind is howling and I was taken for a birthday lunch and my lettuce blew off my plate!  Today I was GRATEFUL because if the wind hadn’t been blowing, we would have been extremely hot!!

Why am I going on so about Gratitude?  I can’t stress enough that living in an “attitude of gratitude” (Zig Ziglar) results in a positive mindset.  Once we have a positive mindset, we attract positivity into our lives in ways that sometimes exceed our imagination.

So to the Virtual Assistants out there who are struggling with anything and everything, remember the Gratitude Journal (last week’s blog post).  It really helps!!  Being grateful for struggles is the last thing you want to be told, I know, but believe me when I tell you that GRATITUDE in ALL things is really the way to go!  What it feels like is as if your boat has capsized and you are in a flooded river but instead of fighting the flow, you are going with it.  Gratitude is an amazing “word” that gives amazing results.  I am walking proof of it.

“Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer. And let faith be the bridge you build to overcome evil and welcome good.”
