“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.”
~ Albert Einstein, letter to his son Eduard, 1930
The above quote says it all. I couldn’t write about coping with disappointment as that was done in week 22 so this week it’s about moving forward after suffering a disappointment
Good morning Readers!
How does one deal with moving forward? Well, that’s just it … one keeps moving!
Last night I felt like creeping into a deep hole and not reappearing for a considerable length of time and I thought about how stupid that would be. What right does someone else have or why should circumstances prevent you from living the life you have dreamed of? The only one that gets hurt is you and me!
You all know the story. A new potential client phones YOU and asks YOU to meet with THEM and everything is hunky dory. You start working. Then a short while later you may hear comments like these: “The work you’ve done is of no value to us” or “This isn’t going to work out”; I could go on and on but you know what I mean, right? This is where creeping into the deep hole comes in because the first thing one thinks of is: “What did I do wrong?”; “Didn’t I communicate well enough?”
As quite a few people have said to me and if you watch “The Apprentice” you will know that Donald Trump says something like this: “It’s not Personal. It’s just Business.”
Unfortunately that is the case. The only thing to do is to keep pedalling. Have you ever tried riding a bicycle standing still? Maybe they get it right in the Circus, but you have a go. It’s not possible.
So, let’s regain our balance and cycle as if our lives depend on it!
See you on line,
