Good morning Readers and welcome!
From “I have Confidence”: The Sound of Music – http://www.lyricsondemand.com/soundtracks/s/thesoundofmusiclyrics/ihaveconfidencelyrics.html
“What will this day be like? I wonder.
What will my future be? I wonder.
It could be so exciting to be out in the world, to be free
My heart should be wildly rejoicing
Oh, what’s the matter with me?
I’ve always longed for adventure
To do the things I’ve never dared
And here I’m facing adventure
Then why am I so scared”
A few paragraphs later:
And mind me with each step I am more certain
Everything will turn out fine
I have confidence the world can all be mine
They’ll have to agree I have confidence in me”
These are some of the lyrics from “I have Confidence” from The Sound of Music. As a reminder, Maria had left the convent and was on her way in her hideous postulant’s dress with her hideous suitcase to the home of Captain von Trapp where she was going to be governess to his seven children. What a movie even by today’s standards but this is not a movie review. The song “I have Confidence” has always meant so much to me as it is something I did not have in abundance but never more so right here and right now!
As Virtual Assistants and small business owners we dream of the day when we have the CHALLENGE of saying: “I am so sorry but I am not taking on more work right now”! Dreams do come true and when they do we have to be ready. We need to be brimming with confidence that we are capable of the tasks our clients ask us to do. “Who am I?” (No I’m not reviewing Les Miserables now – promise)! “Can I do this?” “There must be someone more capable they could ask!” NO, NO, NO. Your clients chose YOU, and they have chosen ME …. We can do this …. We need to have confidence in ourselves by the bucket full. After all,
I have confidence they’ll put me to the test
But I’ll make them see I have confidence in me
