Week 31 – Contentment

Good morning Readers and welcome!   Please feel free to leave feedback and comments – I love hearing from you!  Without readers this blog would be fairly meaningless.

I had a thought.  Yes, I do think from time to time!!  We have had loads of rain as it is our winter season here in Cape Town, South Africa.  I have a few little plants in the garden (mainly herbs) that have been drowned out because of the rain.  We have a clay soil and the water sits on the top and doesn’t drain down so the back garden tends to flood!  Imagine planting a little seedling and drowning it out.  It would end up in a different part of the garden altogether or just plain die!

This got me thinking.  I have been bugging the universe for weeks now for more work … more work … more work … I am still a seedling …. Maybe I have enough work to handle at this point in time …. As the seedling grows and becomes more sturdy and then finally turns into a beautiful plant or even a tree, it can handle loads and loads of rain without coming to any harm.   I guess you get what I am trying to say here.  We need to be content with what we have at any given point.  This doesn’t mean not expanding and growing, it just means being content.

That’s it for this week.  I am content.

“It isn’t what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.”
Dale Carnegie, How to Win Friends and Influence People

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough”
Oprah Winfrey
