Week 21 – Getting the results Right

Good morning Readers and welcome! It is so exciting seeing the reader-base growing. Thank you for your support!

“Every thought is a seed. If you plant crab apples, don’t count on harvesting Golden Delicious.”
Bill Meyer (1892-1957);
Baseball Manager, Coach

In Week 18 I set myself a marketing challenge. I have huge pleasure in informing you that the goal of obtaining one of two new clients in 30 days has been achieved! Yip – I kid you not. I was more surprised than anyone else but I can tell you one thing for sure: thinking the right thoughts results in taking the right action. Taking the right action results in obtaining the right results.

I have been working with a marketing mentor: Francis van Wyk of Create Client Chemistry (http://www.createclientchemistry.com). For the last year I have been fighting the good fight trying to expand my existing client base. As Francis said to me: “You are doing everything right, but not doing it right”!! My immediate thought was: “what a waste of time”. One year of business was a total waste of time. I may as well have been lying on the beach all day or visiting my friends and family, going for lunch, playing golf and basically having a ball. It would have been much more beneficial than sitting behind my desk panicking away for an entire year. Actually, what I learnt was how not to do things but that’s another story.

The last months working with Francis have been totally hectic. I was given loads of homework which involved thinking, planning, evaluating and all those things we put onto the back burner. I was held accountable to achieving certain goals. All in all it has been an amazing experience.

Then the unthinkable happened. In one week, I have one new client. Okay let’s be conservative – it is a 99.9.9.9% certainty. The chain of events has been quite remarkable and all I can say is that if we do things right, then we get the right results.

I’m tired of crab apples!

See you on line,
Lynne
