Good morning Readers
Victor Hugo, the author of the book Les Misérables, penned many quotes but this is one that I particularly like:
“Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones; and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task, go to sleep in peace.”
Not all work is exciting … no, not even when you work for yourself! We have moments of extreme exhilaration and sometimes experience feelings of despair, but we can’t do a good job based on feelings!! Part of being successful, in my (humble) opinion, is being diligent. We need to set timetables, work schedules, tasks, lists (whatever you would like to call them) to get through the days successfully and with purpose. This requires endless patience. Doing the little tasks (such as filing) is laborious. If we don’t do these daily tasks then we will have an inefficient business. How can we look after our clients successfully if we can’t look after ourselves?
The feeling of putting off the light at night with a feeling of accomplishment … well nothing much beats that!
P.S. If you haven’t yet seen Les Misérables (the movie) then do yourselves a favour!
See you on line,
