Week 7 – Freedom of Choice

One day before Christmas!   I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all “Season’s Greetings” and a PROSPEROUS 2013.  If you are going away please travel safely!

“Freedom of choice”!   What lovely words;  music to one’s ears really!

When one is fully employed freedom of choice is something like winning the lotto;  beyond understanding but dreamed of often!   I used to live from pay check to pay check and from one holiday to the next.  Payroll was the worst.  We worked on a schedule and from the 15th of the month work was hectic until the 7th of the next month.   Then it started all over again.  I used to dream of having freedom of choice.

When freedom of choice came my way through being self employed – well let’s just say – too much freedom is not always such a good thing.   It was so tempting to sleep late, go to movies and then wonder why no money was earned that month!  We can choose to go to the beach this morning but that means working tonight.  The client won’t mind as long as his work is delivered on time and accurately!   If my client requires me to work at his offices, we negotiate the day and time;  freedom of choice!

Freedom of choice is tricky.  It needs to be balanced against those two words that don’t come easy to us all;  “self discipline”!

I will be back on line on the 7th of January 2013.  This is because I have freedom of choice … holiday!

Bye till next year,

See you on line,

Lynne
